Introducing – The Jack the Ripper Crime Club

DATED: 19.10.16

Did you know that there is a true crime club dedicated entirely to the study of Jack the Ripper and the Whitechapel Murders – victims, suspects and all the grisly details that made headlines all over the world?

Who is Jack the Ripper?

The notorious killer that is Jack the Ripper has continued to fascinate and intrigue people all over the world for well over a century. Give in to your morbid curiosity, and join us…

We call ourselves H Division.

Why? Because this is the name used by police investigators hunting the Ripper back in 1888.

H Division is a true crime, historical society that promotes the study of the Jack the Ripper and the Whitechapel murders, as well as other infamous true crime cases, both past and present.

We hold regular meetings, tours, days out and events in London’s East End as well as other parts of the UK.

What’s more, we also host an annual Crime Conference and dinner event, taking place over a weekend in the year. At the Crime Conference, our  members gather to enjoy expert talks , debates and discussions.  In fact, we are now the largest true crime conference in the UK!

When you join the H Division Crime Club, you will also receive our quarterly crime journal ‘The Dagger’. Packed full of true crime articles , info and club news, it is the perfect companion for any true crime enthusiast.

Intrigued? Then keep reading to find out more.

Who was Jack the Ripper?

Quite simply, Jack the Ripper is the main character in what is the world’s greatest, unsolved, murder mystery.

Over the last 128 years, we’ve had countless movies, books and plays depicting the Ripper and his heinous crimes.

As the killer’s identity was never discovered, the image of the man we see portrayed changes between from what would have been your average 19th century East-ender through to the more elaborately dressed gentleman, complete with top hat and cloak.

The fact that so many people speculate that the Ripper could have been a doctor or even a member of the Royal family glamorises and sensationalises the killings, even today.

Jack the Ripper remains the only serial killer in history that represents an entire era. The mere mention of his name will conjure up images of Victorian London, foggy nights, Gaslamps, cobbled streets and prostitutes.

Quite simply, this story is the greatest whodunnit in the history of crime.

Can anyone join H Division?

If you have an interest in crime, history or Ripperology as a whole, then we insist you join us and meet many other like minded people. We all share our theories and insights, culminating in a wealth of knowledge while enjoying the social aspect of the club, too. Everyone is welcome.

Can I write for H division?

Yes, indeed . We encourage all of our members to share their knowledge, research ideas and theories with us. If you have an idea for an article, then please do get in touch – you could have it printed in “The Dagger” for all our members to enjoy.
